Mengi Mengi Film Club returns with I AM NOT A WITCH (2017) by Director Rungano Nyoni (Zambia) and 318 (2019) by Director John ‘JJ’ Jumbi. Exploitation is the name of the game as a girl becomes a tethered member of a witches’ camp and an oppressed populace seeks to fight a tyrannical system. I AM NOT A WITCH is unflinching in its gaze at the cruelty that can be visited upon women and girls while 318 bravely takes the audience behind the curtain to expose how power operates.
Free entry. Limited seating. Screening starts promptly at 1PM.
